Here is a summary of the New Year’s remarks given by the principal of the Global Sky Group, Mr. Ko Nagata, for the group’s staff:
Happy New Year. I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has worked to ensure business continuity and the health and safety of our team amid the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
2021 has begun with a lot of uncertainties, but let's view it as an opportunity for a great reset to create a sustainable society and business. Our ability to adapt to changing social environments and to "pioneer our own future" is being tested.
Reflecting on our third medium-term management plan, which concluded in 2020, we reallocated resources based on our philosophy of "creating," "connecting," and "engaging with communities," and transitioned to a creative business model that produces experiential solutions. Despite some business withdrawals due to the pandemic, we maintained revenue levels through strengthened profitability in the early learning business and the divestment of non-core operations.
In our new five-year plan from 2021 to 2025, we have set the following goals:
Pursuing Sustainability: Consideration of global trends like SDGs and ESG, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality and zero food waste by 2025.
Enhancing Corporate Value: Pursuing QGC (Quality, Global Standard, and Creativity) to build a strong revenue and customer base, aiming for an operating profit margin of over 15% by 2025.
Enhancing Professional Development: Developing personnel who embody our vision of "global, general, and professional" talent.
Enhancing Experiential Value: Enhancing our lab functions, strengthening our information collection, analysis, and dissemination capabilities, and maximising experiential value in real settings.
Specific Initiatives for 2021:
Education Business:
We aim to be recognized as a leader in learning transformation (LX) by providing advanced, global, and personalised education both offline and online. In the early learning business, we will enhance existing learning centres through educational program enrichment, facility improvements, acquisition of new centres, external provision of management services, and greening all facilities and processes.
Restaurant Business:
While continuing to provide dining experiences, we will not hesitate to pivot our business model to survive the pandemic. Specifically, we will accelerate product development through enhanced lab functions, build an online community, and establish a revenue base that does not rely solely on in-store sales.
As mentioned at the beginning, our ability to "pioneer our own future" is being tested, but humanity inherently possesses "creativity" and "imagination." I believe that real experiential value will increase through digital transformation (DX). For Global Sky Group to continue its business, enhance corporate value, and grow, we must thoroughly enhance our creativity, which in turn will strengthen our outreach and expand our customer base.
Finally, I ask you to always keep our group's philosophy of "Connecting the world for a brighter future" in mind, adhere to the CLEAR Values, and focus on your health and safety in your daily work. With wishes for the eradication of the pandemic and the rise of a new economy, I conclude my New Year's address.
グローバルスカイ・グループ代表の永田幸が年頭挨拶を行いました。その要旨は以下の通りです。
新年あけましておめでとうございます。COVID-19の影響が続く中、事業継続と健康・安全の確保に尽力いただき、心より感謝いたします。
2021年は不確実性の多い年の始まりですが、サステナブルな社会と事業を創り、グレート・リセットの機会として捉えましょう。社会環境の変化に適応し、会社としての「未来を切り拓く力」が試されます。
第3次中期経営計画(2020年終了)の振り返りでは、理念に基づいて「創る」「つなぐ」「コミュニティを育む」を強みに経営資源を再配分し、体験型ソリューション事業モデルへと転換しました。コロナ禍での事業撤退もありましたが、アーリーラーニング事業の収益強化と非中核事業の譲渡により例年並みの売上高を維持しました。
新たな2021年~2025年の5か年計画では以下の目標を掲げます:
サステナビリティの追求: SDGsやESGに配慮し、2025年までに脱炭素化とフードロスゼロを達成する。
企業価値の向上: QGC(Quality, Global Standard, and Creativity)を追求し、強い収益・顧客基盤を構築し、2025年までに営業利益率15%を超えることを目指す。
人材価値の向上: グローバル、ジェネラル、プロフェッショナルの3軸を合成したような人材を目指す。
体験価値の向上: ラボ機能の高度化、情報収集・分析・発信力の強化、リアルな体験価値の最大化に取り組む。
具体的な2021年の取り組み:
教育事業:
リアルとオンラインで先端教育・グローバル教育・個別最適化教育を提供し、ラーニング・トランスフォーメーション(LX)のリーダーとして認知されることを目指します。アーリーラーニング事業では、教育プログラムの充実、施設改修、新規センター取得、外部提供などを進めます。
レストラン事業:
高い顧客満足度を提供しつつ、業容転換も視野に入れて、コロナ禍での生き残りを図ります。具体的には、商品開発の加速、オンラインコミュニティの構築により、店舗売上に依存しない収益基盤を整えます。
最後に、グループ理念「未来を創り、世界とつなぐ」を常に念頭に、健康と安全に留意しながら日々の業務に取り組んでください。疫病退散と新経済勃興を祈念して、年頭の挨拶といたします。
